Dubai, United Arab Emirates: Under the patronage of Dubai Culture, Cuadro Fine Art Gallery will unveil the largest and most comprehensive exhibition of Turkish contemporary art ever to be seen in the Gulf. “A Survey of Turkish Contemporary Art” will exhibit works by 24 of Turkey’s most distinguished contemporary artists, and will open on 7 December 2009 and run till 30 January 2010.
This exhibition will span all 9 of Cuadro’s exhibition spaces and will include works in various media including painting, collage, sculpture, video and installation.
Co-curated by Bashar Al Shrooqi, Director of Cuadro Fine Art Gallery, and Murat Pilevneli, Director of Galerist, this exhibition will feature leading Turkish contemporary artists that include: Ahmet Oran, Ayşe Erkmen, Elif Uras, Erinç Seymen, Evren Tekinoktay, Gökçen Cabadan, Güçlü Öztekin, Halil Vurucuoğlu, Haluk Akakçe, Hüseyin Çağlayan, İrfan Önürmen, Kezban Arca Batıbeki, Leyla Gediz, Memed Erdener,:mentalKLINIK, Murat Morova, Nazif Topçuoğlu, Sarkis, Selma Gürbüz, Serkan Özkaya, Tayfun Erdoğmuş and Yaşam Şaşmazer.
This show is considered the biggest exhibition of Turkish contemporary art to ever be shown in the Gulf.

This exhibition aims to inspire collaboration between the UAE and Turkey, two countries that culturally and geographically bridge the east and west.” Said Bashar Al Shroogi, Co-curator of the exhibition and director of Cuadro Fine Art Gallery.
“A Survey of Turkish Contemporary Art” is supported by Akbank to celebrate the opening of its first subsidiary representative office in the UAE in December 2009.
The exhibition will inaugurate on 7 December 2009 by an invitation-only private preview, after which, it will be open to the general public until the end of January 2010.
